Kimberly Miles graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a bachelor's degree with honours in Psychology. She subsequently obtained her law degree also from the University of Western Ontario. Kimberly articled with a large full-service firm before working as an associate for two prominent defence lawyers, practicing criminal law. In 2005, Kimberly opened her own practice as a criminal lawyer in Barrie, Ontario, and has continued to restrict her practice exclusively to criminal law. Kimberly maintains a busy court schedule with appearances throughout Simcoe County, including the courts in Barrie, Bradford, Orillia, Midland and Collingwood. Kimberly also appears in Bracebridge and Huntsville.
As a criminal defence lawyer with years of experience, Kimberly prides herself on providing excellent legal representation to all clients, regardless of the nature of the charges, whether the matter proceeds through resolution or trial. She has appeared at all levels of court, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Kimberly is actively involved in the criminal justice system. She is an executive member of the Criminal Lawyers Association of the County of Simcoe (CLACS), where she represents the interests of the defence bar at the committee level. Kimberly is the elected director for the Huronia/Muskoka district of the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
Kimberly is an executive board member of the Barrie chapter of Lawyers Feed the Hungry, where she both organizes fundraisers to support the Salvation Army and volunteers her time serving meals. Kimberly has always maintained an interest in educating the public about the important role that a criminal lawyer plays in the justice system by volunteering her time with an annual local highschool competition. Kimberly also teaches on a part-time basis at Georgian College.
